2005 Robert graduates High School and comes to China to study Chinese and Traditional Chinese Medicine at TCM University and Chinese language at Fudan University
2007 Starts at Raffles Design Institute through Northumbria University UK, finished a 3 year Marketing program in 2 ½
2009 Graduates, started Bamboo Bikes following his experience with his marketing thesis, partnership with Allen Zhao Giant Franchise, finds Chinamanufacturer for Bamboo Bikes
2009 winter, builds and sells first bamboo bike domestically
2009- Works with Mr. Yu, a one handed bike mechanic with fundraising to help with the cost of a prosthetic hand VIDEO, in Mandarin Chinese, prototype development of new series of bamboo bikes
2010- Sells bamboo bike to marketing executive from Nike
March 2010- Robert is invited to teach a Tongji University “360 Brands Workshop” to students of the design school
November 2010 Robert gives the keynote address at “Practice in Cities: Return to the Bicycle time” forum at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University.
2011-12, Consulting work with Chris Trees
2011- While working as export and marketing manager at a Chinese bamboo company,Robert convinces the company to use disabled workers in their factories, after seeing the work he did on bikes with disabled factory workers
2011: Exclusive distribution agreement for Shanghai with Xibambam, children’s bikes and bamboo toys
2012 Robert begins Masters in Transcultural Design “L’Ecole de Design” working from design to consumer.
2012- TedX Hult Business School Shanghai, presented a speech entitled Pursuing the American Dream in China
January 2013 Robert expands partner network to Africa
June 2013 Robert begins intensive in depth Masters research on China’s environment, health, and pollution
